UPN Wimaya International Scholarship 2027 in Indonesia

Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) offers the Wimaya International Scholarship (WIS) for international students seeking Master's and Doctoral degree opportunities in Indonesia.

WIS is offered under two funding schemes: Full WIS and Partial WIS. The fully funded scheme provides tuition coverage, a monthly stipend, health insurance, international travel support, and visa and residence-permit support.

💰 Full WIS Scholarship Benefits

The Full Wimaya International Scholarship covers:

• ✅ Registration fee waiver.
• ✅ Matriculation fee waiver.
• ✅ Full tuition waiver each semester.
• ✅ Fee waiver for the two-month Indonesian Language and Culture Program.
• ✅ BPJS Class 2 health insurance.
• ✅ IDR 2,750,000 monthly stipend.
• ✈️ Incoming international flight support up to USD 200.
• ✈️ Return international flight support up to USD 200.
• 🛂 Full visa and ITAS costs at actual cost. 

Scholarship Duration

• Master's: up to 2 years.
• Doctoral: up to 3 years. 

Scholarship Continuation

According to the current admissions portal, recipients are expected to:

• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.90/4.00 each semester.
• Submit progress reports twice each year, in February and August.
• Pass the university's academic-performance evaluation.
• Avoid study leave during the scholarship period.
• Note that stipend payments may be suspended when remaining outside Indonesia for more than 30 consecutive days.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must generally:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree to apply for a Master's program.
• Hold a Master's degree to apply for a Doctoral program.
• Meet the required English-language standard.
• Translate all required documents into English.
• Hold a valid passport.
• There is no age limit for Master's or Doctoral applicants.
• Under the current admission portal, WIS applicants must hold citizenship from an ASEAN country.
• Applicants with refugee-status stamps in their passports are not eligible under the published scholarship conditions. 

🌐 English-Language Requirements

The university currently accepts several forms of English proficiency.

Published requirements include:

• IELTS: generally 6.0 on the WIS admissions page.
• TOEFL iBT: minimum 80.
• TOEIC: minimum 693.
• TOEFL CBT: minimum 213.
• TOEFL PBT: the main admissions portal currently lists 530 for Full WIS.
• Duolingo: minimum 100.
• In certain cases, an English subject grade equivalent to 8/B may be accepted. 

Applicants should verify the exact score shown for their selected program before submission because different university pages currently show minor differences in some language thresholds.

🏠 Living Costs in Yogyakarta

Although Full WIS includes a monthly stipend of IDR 2.75 million, international students are expected to manage their own living costs.

The university currently estimates:

• Accommodation: approximately IDR 600,000–2,000,000 per month.
• Meals: approximately IDR 2,500,000 per month.
• Internet: around IDR 100,000 per month.
• Laundry: around IDR 150,000 per month. 

Applicants should therefore plan their personal budget in addition to the scholarship stipend.
