UII Future Global Leaders Scholarship 2026/2027 – Intake 2

Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) is accepting international applications for the Future Global Leaders Scholarship (FGLS) – Intake 2 for students seeking Master's and Doctoral study opportunities in Indonesia.

FGLS provides international students with tuition-fee waivers together with living, accommodation and book allowances, health insurance, Indonesian-language training and thesis support under the scholarship's applicable conditions.

The FGLS scholarship currently includes:

• ✅ Annual health insurance
• ✅ Monthly living allowance
• ✅ Monthly accommodation allowance
• ✅ Book allowance each semester
• ✅ Thesis allowance for Master's and Doctoral students

Scholarship Duration

The maximum scholarship period is generally:

• Master's: up to 2 years
• Doctoral: up to 3 years

Continuation is reviewed annually. 

Academic Requirement for Renewal

FGLS recipients must maintain at least:

GPA 2.75 / 4.00

each semester and submit the required annual progress report.

UII currently does not operate a general university dormitory; therefore, FGLS provides an accommodation allowance rather than guaranteed free university housing.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

Master's Applicants

Applicants must:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
• Have a strong academic record.
• Meet the applicable language requirement.
• Not simultaneously hold another scholarship.

Doctoral Applicants

Applicants must:

• Hold a Master's degree from a recognized institution.
• Meet the selected program's academic and language requirements.
• Not simultaneously hold another scholarship.

Applicants may not apply again for the same academic degree level they have already completed. 

Age Requirement

There is currently:

No age limit for Master's and Doctoral FGLS applicants. 

🌍 Nationality, Passport and Visa

FGLS is available to non-Indonesian citizens.

UII currently states that:

• Applicants should hold a valid passport.
• Applicants whose passports contain a refugee-status stamp are not eligible for FGLS.
• Applicants from calling-visa countries may apply, but visa approval remains subject to Indonesian immigration authorities. 

🗣️ Language Requirements

For FGLS, UII currently lists the following accepted English-language scores:

The language certificate must generally have been issued within the previous two years.

UII may also accept an Indonesian-language proficiency certificate at UKBI Semenjana Level, where applicable.

 Indonesian Language Program – BIPA

International students may be required to join the Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA) program, depending on the selected academic program and language requirements.

UII's BIPA program is designed to develop Indonesian-language skills across progressive levels before or alongside academic study.

Applicants should prepare:

1. Graduation certificate.
2. Academic transcript.
3. Certified English translation where necessary.
4. Color scan of the passport identity page.
5. Letter of Good Health.
6. Updated CV/Resume.
7. Statement of Purpose explaining academic and career goals.
8. English or Indonesian language-proficiency certificate.
9. UII Declaration Form.
10. Recent formal photograph with a white or red background.
11. Any additional documents required by the chosen program. 

The declaration includes confirmation that the applicant will comply with Indonesian law and will not work while holding a study visa. 

📝 How to Apply

1. Open the UII admission system.
2. Select International Admission.
3. Choose Full Degree.
4. Create an NIU Account.
5. Log in and complete the application.
6. Select your preferred programs; UII generally allows up to three choices.
7. Upload all required documents.
8. Carefully review your application.
9. Submit it.
10. Monitor your registered email for verification and interview information. 

UII notes that applicants should review their information carefully because submitted application data may not be editable afterward. 

🎤 Interview

Eligible applicants who pass document verification will be invited to an interview.

The interview generally consists of:

• An academic-knowledge interview for all applicants.
• A scholarship interview for applicants seeking FGLS funding.

💵 Costs Applicants Should Consider

Although FGLS provides financial allowances, some costs remain the student's responsibility.

UII currently estimates:

• First-year e-visa and stay permit: approximately IDR 6,000,000
• Annual stay-permit extension: approximately IDR 4,500,000
• Accommodation: approximately IDR 600,000–2,000,000/month
• Meals: approximately IDR 2,500,000/month
• Internet: approximately IDR 300,000/month 

Applicants should therefore budget for expenses beyond the scholarship allowances.
